Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I is responsible for providing advanced technical support as a Field Division Administrator (DAdmin) for the Department's local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) environment with knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft 365 (M365), and LAN hardware topologies, ensuring efficient and effective operation of computer-related systems and equipment. The Information Technology Specialist I will specialize in body worn camera (BWC) and Wireless Mobile Video and Audio Recording System (WMVARS) support for the California Highway Patrol, including but not limited to product inspections, system tests, site inspections, training, deployment, implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and advanced administrative support at the division/statewide level. The Information Technology Specialist I will function as a liaison between the field Division and Information Management Division, as well as remote commands/units. In addition, the Information Technology Specialist I will manage division-level LAN/WAN administration, troubleshooting, technical support, and problem resolution based on severity, sharing various group responsibilities according to the Department's needs for the Customer Services Group (CSG).
