As our On-Site Freight Broker, you will play a crucial role in our team's success by actively seeking out new customers and carriers while maintaining existing client relationships. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a hunter for both customers and carriers, identifying opportunities for growth and forging strong partnerships within the freight industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Actively prospect and acquire new customers and carriers to expand our network and maximize freight opportunities.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and carriers, ensuring exceptional service and fostering loyalty.
* Negotiate rates and contracts with customers and carriers to ensure competitive pricing and optimal service levels.
* Coordinate freight movements and manage logistics operations to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
* Stay informed about market trends, industry regulations, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and mitigate risks.
* Utilize industry tools and technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency in freight management.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of freight transactions and resolve any issues promptly.
* Track and analyze key performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
* Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and customer focus in all interactions.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a freight broker or in a related role, with a strong track record of customer and carrier acquisition.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others effectively.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in industry-specific software and technology, including transportation management systems (TMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
* Knowledge of transportation regulations, freight market dynamics, and supply chain management principles.
* Drive and motivation to achieve results, with a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
* Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional flexibility for business needs.
