Position Title: Firefighter/Paramedic Class D
The City of North Ridgeville is creating an eligibility list for entry-level Firefighter/Paramedics. Applications and scores will be accepted from December 2, 2024, to February 17, 2025. Candidates must complete the NTN exam, Public Safety Self Awareness (PSSA) test, and submit a City application to be eligible. Physical agility certificates will be accepted until February 17, 2025, to accommodate participants of the February 9, 2025, Tri-C Agility Exam.

Starting salary: $71,946.47 annually (2025)

Department Overview:
The North Ridgeville Fire Department serves a growing community of over 35,000 residents. High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Firefighter Physical Agility Certificate from Tri-C
Paramedic Certification
Physical Agility Test Certificate of Completion and all extra credit documentation must be submitted with the application before the deadline
Extra Credit for Written Test:
Military Service:
15% for reserves
20% for honorable discharge
College Transcript: 5 points
Valid & Current FFII/EMT Certification: 2 points

Hiring Process:
Candidates on the eligibility list called for interviews must pass:
Computer Voice Stress Analysis
Psychological examination
Physical examination (as determined by the Police & Fireman's Disability & Pension Fund)
The City will cover the medical examination fee.
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to operate motor vehicles safely with a valid driver's license and maintain insurability
Possess applicable Ohio Department of Public Safety EMT and Firefighter certifications
Perform essential and marginal functions based on work location, assignment, or shift
