Our work depends on Test Engineer Senior joining our team to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Consolidated Corporate Support Services (CCSS) program. The responsibilities will encompass developing and executing test plans, creating test cases and scripts, leading automated testing efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure compliance with organization standards and meet end-user requirements
  • Lead the testing team in implementing and configuring automated testing tools, with specific expertise in tools such as TestComplete
  • Create test schedules, testing approaches, and detailed test scripts, identifying relevant data for test scenarios
  • Conduct walkthroughs on test cases/scripts with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads
  • Perform and lead tests on software and/or IT systems, ensuring proper operation and identifying defects
  • Conduct verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures, and criteria within an appropriate verification environment
  • Document and communicate test results, supporting the analysis of results and resolution of open issues
  • Resolve complex problems, document improvements to current procedures, and develop models for possible future configurations
  • Generate daily test metrics and reporting, contributing to the overall project milestones
  • Occasionally engage in other IT systems engineering activities such as requirements analysis, design, installation, operation, sustainment, and support.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  • Required Experience : 8 + years experience required
  • Required Technical Skills: Proficient in testing on database platforms like Microsoft SQL or Oracle; Experience with common testing tools and automated testing tools for software, including MicroFocus, Eggplant, SmartBear, and TestComplete; Experience in implementation and configuration of automated testing tools; Testing applications written in/on languages/platforms such as .Net, Java, C#, HTML; Creation of comprehensive test cases and test scripts; Interpretation of functional and technical requirements; Expertise in defect identification and resolution; Preparation for and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Security Clearance Level: Ability to obtain a VA Position of Public Trust - Medium Background Investigation (MBI)

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
